Boredom simulator
This is such a weird idea but it feels artsy and fun. In the game you play as a kid whose phone is taken away by their parent on a long train ride. You find in front of you a folded tray table with a diagram of the train carriage. You start to imagine yourself playing a side scroller moving through the carriages. Occasionally, the gameplay of the tray table is broken up by real life stimuli, which feed into the game:
- Looking out the window to spot someone harvesting rice with a sickle, leading to a bunch of ninjas appearing in the next tray-table carriage
- The ticket inspector (conductor) appears with a hole-punch, who manifests as someone violently hole punching the passengers on the tray-table train
Perhaps there'll be multiple levels of this throughout various stages of the person's life, and playing as a child on the train is only the first one.
The point of the game is to teach creativity and let people look for opportunities to attach their brain's story generator in real life.
