Project Hail Mary
A fantastic blend of the existential dread from Interstellar, the curious mystery from Arrival, and the survivalism from The Martian. If you enjoyed any of those films, I'd absolutely recommend this one.
It now sits among my favourite sci-fi movies next to Arrival and Contact (1997). The most spoiler-free but enticing summary I can give you is this. The sun is being eaten by a weird space bacteria which will cause earth to freeze over in the next 30 years. A distant star seems to hold the cure. How did Ryan Gosling's character end up on the mission to get there?
