The Tables Turned
A beautiful poem by William Wordsworth. It suggests that nature is a more effective, complete and enjoyable teacher than books; it suggests theory, art and analytical (discriminating) knowledge is incomplete in a way that non-discriminating (aka flow state aka Creativity) intellect is not.
Sweet is the lore which Nature brings;
Our meddling intellect
Mis-shapes the beauteous forms of things
We murder to dissect.
Enough of Science and of Art;
Close up those barren leaves;
Come forth, and bring with you a heart
That watches and receives.
