My interval training app
Something missing from all interval trainers I've seen is a "continuous mode"; keep playing me notes in the same key (as I would hear in a song) and let me guess the interval relative to the original key. As per other trainers, let me restrict the notes I'm practicing with. Same goes with chords; keep feeding me chords continuously from the same key.
It feels bonkers to me that this kind of interval trainer doesn't exist, because it's the most similar to what you'd experience when trying to play something by ear or jamming with others. Even better, you can play the note back to a microphone from your instrument, because then you can practice interval training melody (or harmony) on a specific instrument; or rather, you can start training your subconscious to tie melody (and harmony) to hand positions.
It would be amazing if I could figure out the note from an arbitrary timbre instrument; play the major scale (or a subset) and then use this to normalise incoming signals (benchmark them against the reference).
As a key difference from my favourite (existing) interval trainer , it does not show you your percentage on the screen; it just tells you whether your answer was right or wrong (flashing red or green, customisable for accessibility of course); you can choose whether it's just a right/wrong or whether it tells you how far away you are.
I would love to try adding a synesthesia mode, where it shows a colour on the screen as you play a note (and the correct one).
Perhaps add some slight timbre variance on the synths to make it more funky.

Wait, why don't we go harder and integrate this with Comprehensible input; given a song, figure out its melody, then play its melody? Actually, that sounds really hard, and people can already do this playing along to their favourite songs. I think it's much easier to hear whether your melody is the same when you play alongside it.
